Hall for Cornwall

Since 2015 I have directed the Christmas show for the Hall for Cornwall, Cornwall's main large-scale entertainment venue, working closely with actors Ed Rowe (Kernow King), Granville Saxton and the rest of the HfC production team.

Sleeping Beauty (2017)

Director / Co-writer (Midscale Christmas run)

Edward 'Kernow King' Rowe and Granville Saxton return in this year's Christmas show, Sleeping Beauty, the final chapter in a trilogy of adventures featuring our much loved Cornishman, Kenwyne and his extended family.

Disaster has befallen the Kingdom of King Mark. Beloved Princess Rose has been struck down by an ancient curse which forces her to sleep for an eternity, the King is nowhere to be seen and sinister forces are plotting to take his power. What we need is a hero. But is there anyone brave enough to take on this princely quest? Who will defeat the dreaded dragon Leatherclaw and awaken our sleeping beauty with true love's kiss?

From the creative team that brought you hit shows Dick Whittington and his Mousehole Cat! ("the most outstanding Christmas Show in the theatre's history" Cornwall Live) and Jack and the Beanstalk, Hall for Cornwall are proud to present its own home grown production to enchant and entertain adults and children alike. With magic, music and comedy and some sparkling surprises, make sure you book your tickets now - it promises to be a 'bewty!

Once upon a time, a young lad called Dick Whittington set off from Cornwall to follow his dreams of fame and riches.

But times are hard, and before long our hero hasn’t got a penny to his name and nobody but his faithful cat, Mousehole, for company. When he’s accused of a crime he didn’t commit, Dick decides that he must prove his innocence and goes off on a quest which takes him over the rolling seas to an exotic palace which is over run with rats? Will Dick be able to overcome the menacing King Rat and his minions?  Will he get the girl of his dreams?  Will he find his fortune and fulfil his ambition to become the Lord Mayor of London?
